(“Distaff Day”, “us”, “our”, or “we”).  This Privacy Policy (the “Privacy Policy”) describes how we collect, use, and disclose the information from you gathered through the website located at (the “website”).  This Privacy Policy applies only to Distaff Day’s online information-gathering and sharing practices occurring on the Website, and does not apply to any data collected through any products and services that we may provide, nor to information collected offline.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully to understand our policies and practices regarding your information and how we will treat it.  By accessing the Website, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.  If you do not agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not visit or use any of the links on this Website.

1. Definitions

We and our service providers may use cookies, pixels, log files, and other mechanisms to gather information about your use of our website.

Cookies are alphanumeric identifiers that we transfer to your computer’s hard drive through your web browser for record-keeping purposes. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but if you prefer, you can edit your browser options to block them in the future. The Help portion of the toolbar on most browsers will tell you how to prevent your computer from accepting new cookies, how to have the browser notify you when you receive a new cookie, or how to disable cookies altogether.

Clear GIFs, pixel tags and other technologies

Clear GIFs are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies. In contrast to cookies, which are stored on your computer’s hard drive, clear GIFs are embedded invisibly on web pages. We may use clear GIFs (also referred to as web beacons, web bugs or pixel tags), in connection with our website to, among other things, track the activities of users of our website, help Distaff Day manage content, and compile statistics about usage of our website.

Log files

Most browsers collect certain information, such as your IP address, device type, screen resolution, operating system version, and internet browser type and version. This information is gathered automatically and stored in log files.

Third party analytics

We also use automated devices and applications to evaluate the use of our services. We use these tools to gather non-personal data about users to help Distaff Day improve our services and user experiences. These analytics providers may use cookies and other technologies to perform their services, and may combine the information they collect about you on our website with other information they have collected for their own purposes. This Policy does not cover such uses of data by third parties.

2. The Information We Obtain

You provide personal information to us when you complete forms on this website.  The checkout form collects your name, address, phone number, email address, and, optionally, your summer address and phone number, if different from your permanent address and information.  The forms for contacting Distaff Day collect your name, email address, and, in some cases, phone number.

If you upload images to our website, like a picture for your Fashion Show entries, those images may include embedded location data.   This information can be scrubbed by you prior to uploading.  However, if you do not scrub the embedded location data and upload an image that contains it, anyone who sees that image may be able to download and extract location data from it.

Information Collected Automatically

Distaff Day may use cookies which save information in order to improve your ease of use and help with spam detection.  This may include your login credentials, IP address, or browser user string.

Distaff Day uses Google Analytics as a traffic monitoring service to provide us with insights into how visitors use our site.  In addition, our hosting provider monitors traffic and maintains logs including IP addresses for performance and security reasons.  Please see Appendix A for links to the privacy policies of these companies.

Posts and pages on this site may include embedded content, like videos, images, or articles.  Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.  These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
